Project description:

H2-Wegweiser stands for the project Energy System Analysis for the Technical, Economic and Social Integration, Storage and Conversion of Hydrogen in Lower Saxony. This Lower Saxony "Innovation Laboratory for Hydrogen Technologies" uses an interdisciplinary approach to investigate how a hydrogen-based energy system of the future can be concretely designed in Lower Saxony, which technical variants are advantageous and what influence legal, ecological and economic aspects have. As a result, a closed and holistic methodology for the conception and evaluation of combinable storage, transport, conversion and utilization processes is available, which can be used for a concretization of the hydrogen implementation strategy in Lower Saxony. The results serve on the one hand for the development and assessment of concrete hydrogen projects and on the other hand for the estimation of the overall economic potential.

In our subproject LCA/Life Cycle Assessment we investigate the potential environmental impact of power-to-X value chains by means of life cycle assessment.
