Colloquia for theses

General information

Part of many final, project and student research projects is the oral defence of the written work in the form of a presentation followed by a discussion. The details can be found in the respective examination regulations.

In order to simplify the process and to improve academic exchange, IFAD offers 3-4 dates per semester on which the theses can be defended. We ask students to plan the dates announced here early when writing their theses and to submit their defence in consultation with their supervisors to Dr.-Ing. Andrea Haas in writing.

The binding registration is made with Dr.-Ing. Andrea Haas by email. The following information must be submitted: name, matriculation number, title of the paper, email address, supervisor, type of paper, duration of the presentation according to the examination regulations. The exact schedule of the examination day will be announced to the students two weeks before the date by email and on the homepage. An unexcused absence will result in the failure of the defence.

The usual media and tools (beamer, pointer, PC, flip chart) are available for the presentation. The presentation should be discussed in advance with the supervisors and must be submitted in .ppt or .pptx format. For the presentation we recommend the templates of TU Clausthal in 4:3 format with Arial as font.
